What is a Kundli?


According to the Vedic Astrology system personal horoscopes are made. It depends on factors like, date of birth, time of birth and location of birth. Considering these factors a Kundli is made which features many significant specifications like horoscope symbol, naxatra, prevailing stars, Varna, Guna and much more. This science of intensive mathematical calculations of the planetary positions of an individual reveals the future of the person.

How is matchmaking done?


The Kundli of the Bride and the Groom are taken into observation for the matchmaking. This process of Gun Milan is broken down into eight individual tests and generates a certain number of points which are then added together to give an overall score.
Score compatibility goes like this:-
  • If the number of Gunas is below 18 – couple are incompatible
  • If the number of Gunas is between 18-24 – couples match is average but acceptable
  • If the number is between 25-32 – couples match is very good
  • If the number is above 32 – the bride and groom are of identical nature and is the best match

  1. Varna (1 point) – Indicates occupational nature and compatibility.
  2. Vaasya (2 points) – Indicates mutual affection and romantic love between the couple.
  3. Tara (3 points) – Indicates longevity of couple
  4. Yoni (4 points) – Indicates physical compatibility in terms of attractiveness and ability to satisfy each other
  5. Maitri (5 points) – Indicates ability of couple to develop friendship with each other based on mutual interests, likes and dislikes.
  6. Gan (6 points) – Indicates a person’s basic nature.
  7. Bhakoot (7 points) – Indicates emotional compatibility based on your ascendent or Lagna.
  8. Nadi (8 points) – Indicates physical compatibility and ability to have children.

Guna Test 1 – The Varna Test


Depending on the basic skills and abilities people have been divided into 4 classes. Understand which class you belong to depending on your Zodiac sign.
  • Brahmins or Priests – Karka (Cancer), Vrishchika (Scorpio) and Meena (Pisces)
  • Kshatriyas or Warriors – Mesha (Aries), Simha (Leo) and Dhanu (Sagittarius)
  • Vaishyas or Merchants – Vrishabha (Taurus), Kanya (Virgo) and Makara (Capricorn)
  • Shudras or Laborers – Mithuna (Gemini), Tula (Libra) and Kumbha (Aquarius)
