India has witnessed many luminaries and one of such in the top most of the order is Meerabai, her poems, songs are unparalleled example of devotion towards Shree Krishna. Meerabai was born to a Royal family of the Rajputs, in the place called Kudki in the district Pali of at Rajasthan. When Meerabai was three years old she received a gift from her father a small idol of Shree Krishna that was given to his father by a sage.
Out of many stories of Meerabai few recorded and few spread orally. One such story that is narrated here is about the innocence of a child and her devotion towards her loved Shree Krishna. As a small girl plays with her dolls little Meera played with the small idol of Krishna, dressed it up, decorate it with garlands, also cooked her food. The food she used to cook for Krishna by using her “datum” (a twig of a Neem tree used for cleaning teeth) its said that Shree Krishna used accepting the food / bhoge, this practice was going on until noticed by some elder in the family and Meera was given a spoon to cook the food / bhoge. Surprisingly Meera noticed the Krishna was not having the bhoge served to Krishna, she was so upset she stopped having food and went to sleep. It is said the Shree Krishna came to her dreams and asked her to cook the food with datum only and every thing went normal between Meerabai & Shree Krishna. To know more click here....
